About the calculator and live tools

Value Calculator
How is import spend calculated from my revenue?

Import spend is estimated as a percentage of your annual revenue, based on your sector's typical procurement profile. Fashion and retail companies typically source 30 to 40 percent of revenue from imported goods. Technology and electronics companies often run 35 to 55 percent. Consumer packaged goods companies typically run 18 to 28 percent.

The default percentage is set when you select your sector and can be adjusted with the slider to match your actual procurement data. All downstream calculations use the resulting import spend figure directly.

What is an HS Code Error Rate and how do I estimate mine?

An HS (Harmonized System) code is the classification number that determines the duty rate applied to every imported item. An error rate of 10 percent means roughly 1 in 10 product lines carries the wrong or missing code. Industry studies estimate typical error rates between 5 and 25 percent, with higher rates in companies that classify retrospectively or rely on one or two trade compliance specialists. Use 10 percent if you are unsure. TradePro's Material Classification Agent targets below 2 percent.

What do Conservative, Moderate, and Aggressive scenarios represent?

The three scenarios reflect different depths of TradePro adoption. Conservative assumes core classification and PO workflow automation with limited change management. Moderate assumes full TradePro deployment across sourcing, contracting, and AP. Aggressive assumes the full STREAM Agent suite including the P2P Agent, which has been in autonomous production since November 2023. The Moderate scenario is the most commonly achieved within 12 months of deployment.

How accurate are these estimates?

This calculator uses published data from Gartner, Yale Budget Lab, and the USITC HTS schedule, combined with defaults calibrated to Ecoservity's production deployments. Results are indicative, not guaranteed. Actual benefit depends on your sourcing geography, current HS error rates, system integration scope, and adoption depth. Ecoservity validates all estimates against your actual SAP data before including them in a formal business case.

How accurate is the HTS Advisor Agent, and can I use its output in a customs entry?

The HTS Advisor Agent is built on the Trade Foundational Model and applies GenAI classification logic against the current USHTS schedule and publicly available CBP rulings. Accuracy on standard commercial goods is high, and the agent returns supporting rationale for auditability. That said, classification results are research-grade, not binding. They should be reviewed by a licensed customs broker or trade compliance professional before use in a formal customs entry.

Do I need a data pipeline, ETL, or a data warehouse to use these tools?

No. TradePro runs on USB4SAP, which provides zero-copy, direct REST access to SAP data without extractors, pipelines, or replication. The PowerBI dashboards connect to live SAP data and government tariff portals via the STREAM Engine. There is no batch job, no nightly copy, and no shadow database to maintain. Data never leaves your environment under the STREAM Activate deployment model.

How current is the tariff data in the USHTS search and the purchasing docs view?

The USHTS tariff data is sourced live from government portals via the Trade Foundational Model, not from a static copy loaded at a fixed interval. This matters when tariff rates change between the time a PO is created and the time goods ship, a scenario that has become routine since 2022. The purchasing docs view flags exactly this: tariff changes between PO release and shipment, surfaced before goods move so the duty impact can be captured before it becomes a post-shipment surprise.

Will connecting TradePro to SAP require ABAP development or destabilize our SAP environment?

No ABAP is required. USB4SAP is SAP NetWeaver certified and interfaces with SAP through standard, supported APIs. There are no custom transports, no modifications to standard SAP objects, and no clean-core violations. The platform has been in production since 2021 across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments. Security follows 100% native SAP application authorizations, so no new security perimeter is introduced.

Which personas get the most immediate value from TradePro, and where should we start?

The fastest entry point depends on where the clog is most visible. CPOs with high volumes of unclassified materials or frequent duty surprises at customs should start with the Material Classification Agent and the HTS + Material Master view. CFOs concerned about trade exposure on in-transit shipments should start with the HTS + Purchasing Docs view and PO Profitability Agent. CDOs and CIOs evaluating live SAP data access for AI models should start with the USHTS Tariff Search and then review the platform architecture on the TradePro product page.
